NO FARMERS, NO FOOD, NO FUTURE.

Background

In September 2020, 3 Farm Bills were passed via an unorganised, non-tallied vocal vote despite clear opposition in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Parliament. All 3 Bills claim to help the long-troubling rates of farmer suicide, largely attributed to crippling debt and losses on marketed goods, agricultural issues and devastation from climate change related environmental disasters, like extreme drought and flooding.

The Issue

When the bills are looked at closely, it becoame clear that they were created to allow corporations to take over the agricultural sector in it’s entirety – from land, to seeds, crops, storage of food, transport and directly to your table – eventually eliminating the already struggling farmer (Kisaans) from the entire process altogether.

Protests

Farmers (estimated at over 300,000 farmers), furious at the BJPs three agriculture laws (Black Laws), built off the solidarity from the General Strike, and took to the streets as part of the Dilli Chalo, (Go to Delhi) protest, to block the borders of Delhi and force Modi and BJP to completely roll back the laws.

These are the protests we are amplifying and standing in solidarity with today.

THESE PROTESTS IMPACT US ALL.
